Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans offered sympathy for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
